Extremely Fucking Dead
20 Buck Spin
3/5

TLDR: A very basic death metal release.

Review: You don’t wanna to confuse this one with the Belgium band with the same name. This one comes from Bay Area, USA and offers you plain and simple old-school death metal with zero surprises.

Extremely Fucking Dead does its thing carefully. There are no mistakes, weird ideas or anything original. After an intro that reminds of a horror movie, the first track starts its pounding with what sounds like death metal from the early 90’s. Riffs are simple are easy to listen to – assuming one is not shaken by the low growling vocals. Low-tuned guitars do their job well even if the riffs offer nothing new or particularily interesting.

At some points one might get excited about a guitar melody paying tribute to Bolt Thrower, but rest assured, those moments won’t last long. And that’s pretty much all there is to it. Extremity is kinda extreme in that it offers nothing new, original or anything that would make it stand out from the crowd.

In essence the problem with Extremity is not the stuff they do or how they do it but the fact there’s very little any variation. Once you’ve heard the first track (after the intro, that is), you’ve more or less heard the whole album. The production, which is decent, or the deep growling vocals are not gonna change that one bit. In the end this is one of those albums you’ve heard already a million times before.
