Vol. III & IV: Cult of the Void
Art of Propaganda

TLDR: Doom metal with sludge and Volbeat “Elvis singing”.

Review: Dunno for what kind of audience Canadian doom/sludge band Seer is aimed for, but my guess is Roadburn festival audience.

Take clean vocals akin to Volbeat, add some black metalish shrieking, groovy doominess and some pot, and you’re ready to go with Seer. If this combo sounds good as written, surely this is your cup of tea. Otherwise, move on.

Sounds from 1970’s heavy metal added to this whole I can’t but wish I didn’t have to listen to this album so many times. To me this kind of combo is almost like poison. I can tolerate it but I can’t like it. I hate those Volbeat vocals. And the songs, they are bearable but nothing better than that. Then again, I’m not really into stoner or sludge. If you are, sure, shoot me and buy this one.
